A message from our Superintendent
A Message from Dr. Victor Valeski, Superintendent of Schools
Welcome to East Brunswick Public Schools, home to 11 nationally recognized educational facilities! Each one has its own distinct character but values and promotes excellence, in Academics, Athletics and the Arts.
In addition to providing exceptional educational opportunities in a safe and caring environment, East Brunswick Public Schools is about to start one of the most exciting and challenging years to date.
First the excitement:
We are launching a Learning Management System (LMS) at the East Brunswick High School and Churchill Junior High School. An LMS is an online repository of class material, discussions, assignments, assessments and more. New laptop computers for each 10th, 11th and 12th grader for their school and home use, while they are students with us, are supplementing this initiative.
Now the challenge:
Our elementary enrollment continues to rise. A report to the Board of Education, by the district’s demographer this past July, underscores the significance of the enrollment trends we are witnessing. From a conservative perspective, East Brunswick Public Schools will grow by over 500 new students by 2024. That is the equivalent of a new elementary school!
As we continue to evaluate options for the challenges we face, whether they be enrollment or a variety of other issues, we will continue to utilize our e3b model:
Examine our current condition.
Explore opportunities to improve students’ experiences in academics, athletics and the arts or any element impacting the culture of our schools and offices.
Engage all the appropriate stakeholders in a consensus decision for improvement.
Benchmark the results with data using a pre-defined standard.
As we invest in continuous improvement, we are committed to providing a rigorous, well-rounded and cutting edge education that will prepare our students to lead creative thinking for 21st Century solutions.
Dr. Victor P. Valeski, Superintendent of Schools
