District Preschool Offerings for the 2019-20 School Year:For parents interested in having their 3 and/or 4-year old children participate in a preschool program within the district, there are three programs to choose from. To be eligible to register for any of the three programs, children should be potty trained and they must be three years of age on or before October 31, 2019. Transportation for all programs is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
General Education Inclusive Preschool Program
5 days/week- two-and-one-half (2½) hours per day, AM or PMLocation is determined based on student enrollment and room availability.
This preschool program is open to 3 and 4-year-old children residing in East Brunswick. To be eligible for the 2019-2020 school year, children must be three years of age by October 31, 2019, and not age eligible for kindergarten (5 years of age by October 31, 2019). Children must also be toilet trained.
This tuition-based program provides an inclusive educational environment for preschool children aligned with the New Jersey Department of Education Preschool Teaching & Learning Expectations: Standards of Quality. The classes, taught by certified teachers and supported with paraprofessional aides, include both typically developing and special needs preschool children.
The tuition-based program is five days per week and follows the ten-month school calendar. Tuition is not assessed for families eligible for free and reduced lunch. Transportation for this program is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Application Process: Applications for the General Education Inclusive Preschool are available online and have to be received by March 8, 2019. Any applications received after this date will be put on a waiting list.

A limited number of openings will be available. Requests for specific sessions will be considered based on the number of applicants. However, there are no guarantees for parental requested placements. A lottery drawing will occur in April 2019 if the number of applicants exceeds the openings. This parent-pay program is for 3 and 4-year-old children residing in East Brunswick and the surrounding areas. To be eligible for the 2019-2020 school year, children must be three years of age by October 31, 2019, and not age eligible for kindergarten (5 years of age by October 31, 2019). Children must also be toilet trained.
The curriculum design and implementation are based on the New Jersey Department of Education Preschool Teaching & Learning Expectations: Standards of Quality and the Preschool Implementation Guidelines. Certified supervisors with expertise in the field of early childhood and school readiness oversee the planning and preparation for the program. The plans will be implemented by experienced and caring staff. Lead instructors are certified teachers. The program provides parents the opportunity to register their child for a five day/week developmentally appropriate learning experience within the school district.

In Person Pre-School Registration will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019, between the hours of 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. for residents of East Brunswick Only. The registration will be held at the East Brunswick Public Schools Administration Building, 760 Route 18 in the Board Room. After April 1st, registrations will be accepted via by appointment only for East Brunswick residents, and starting April 8th for residents of surrounding areas. A non-refundable registration fee plus the first month’s tuition must be received at the time of registration. All checks should be made payable to East Brunswick Public Schools – Early Learning Academy. Please include the child’s full name on all checks. Bears and Cubs Preschool (Teaching Laboratory at EBHS)

This preschool program is free and open to 3 and 4-year-old children residing in East Brunswick.
To be eligible for the 2019-20 school year, children must be three years of age by October 31, 2019, and no older than 4 years 8 months. Children must also be toilet trained.

The first day of school will be in late October 2019. The start date is yet to be determined. Upon notification of acceptance into the program, all other forms need to be submitted by the Information Session. This date will take place sometime at the end of August. The Teaching Lab is an elective for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in child development and/or a career in education. In this double period, full-year course, high school students learn, plan, teach and observe children, ages 3-5 years of age, in a preschool setting. Prior to the arrival of the preschoolers, study is devoted to child development, guidance techniques, teaching methods, observational techniques, scheduling and routines needed to work with the preschool-aged child. This unique course allows the high school students to apply their new skills and concepts to conduct and supervise a preschool. Students will continue to learn, plan and develop with the opportunity to practice these skills in storytelling, creative movement, art, music and theme teaching. The students gain confidence, knowledge and skills to assist in careers relating to children. This course offers an exceptional opportunity for those students interested in teaching.
