A Message from the Principal
Bowne-Munro is an extraordinary school with a long-standing tradition of excellence. Named a National Blue Ribbon School, Bowne-Munro truly is a community of learners committed to providing each student in grades PreK-5 with a challenging yet nurturing educational experience. The focus of all we do is on the student as a learner. Bowne-Munro School offers students a world-class education through a comprehensive curriculum aligned with national standards delivered by the best staff of dedicated professionals around!
Learners Soaring To Leaders
We are also equally committed to educating the emotional side of the child. Our school theme is, “Learners Soaring To Leaders“ developed using the principles of the research based program, “Positive Behavioral Supports in Schools.” Under the guise of this theme will be three overarching behavioral expectations: Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Our staff has operationalized these expectations for each area within the school and developed a positive reinforcement system to foster good choices on a regular basis. In addition, we have created a process to help students reflect when this choice does not happen in order to teach into the ultimate goal of building strong character. Periodic celebrations will help foster a positive school climate where each child becomes the best person they can be.
We believe parents are vital to our school's success as they participate as partners in the teaching and learning process and as eager supporters of the Parent Teacher Association The combination of students who work hard, teachers who care, and parents who support education truly provides a powerful blend of structure, programming, resources, and commitment so that every student can be successful in his or her own individual way.
