    Dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room if you are dealing with a true life threatening event.

    For families behind in their utility bills that are unable to maintain the high costs. Go to NJPoweron.org and apply for USF. They will work with the family to modify the amount needed to pay.

     

    988 is the new three-digit number that routes callers to the Suicide & Crisis hotline.

    * National Suicide Prevention Hotline- 1-800-273-TALK (8255); text “SMART” to 741741 
    * Perform Care- 1-877-652-7624 (can be utilized for crisis situations) 
    * Prevent Suicide NJ, for educators, families, youth, and community partners to access resources and training.
    * Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide Parent & Caregiver Toolkit
    * The NJ Statewide Student Support System (NJ4S), which allows registered middleand high-schools to request tiered wellness supports for students.
    * 2 nd Floor Youth Helpline, which offers call, message board and text options for youth to connect to live, emotional support counselors.
    * Traumatic Loss Coalition (TLC) offers support to communities affected by traumatic events such as suicides, violence and tragedy.

    University Behavioral Health Care- 855-515-5700- 671 Hoes Lane West, Piscataway, NJ 08854- 24-hr walk-in for all ages who require crisis intervention
    * SAMHSA National Helpline- 1-800-662-HELP (4357)- Mental Health Services Admin 
    * NJ-211 (NJ specific resources for food, utilities, mental health, etc.) call 2-1-1, text 898-211
