On November 17, 2024, the Second Annual EBEF Bear Crawl 5K was held at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center. Over 400 people participated in running or walking the certified 5K course. Mort than 120 children participated in shorter distance races for ages 2 through 6th grade.
5K winners were given medals for first, second, and third places in their age brackets. Some of our medalists were winners last year as well! The community at large came together for a great cause—from staff, supervisors and students of East Brunswick Public Schools to a variety of local businesses as sponsors as well as PTAs.
The East Brunswick Education Association sponsored a Mindful Moment before or after the race with some yoga and breathing exercises. Between walking, running, raffle prizes, snacks, and socializing, a great time was had by all at this successful event. We are hoping people continues to lace up their sneakers and join the Bear Crawl for years to come.
