Elections & Voting Information
SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS
The Annual School Election will take place on the first Tuesday in November, at the same time as the General Election.
Candidate Information: Prospective School Board candidates may obtain a School Board Candidate Kit from the New Jersey School Boards Association website at www.njsba.org. The School Board Candidate Kit includes information about legal qualifications for school board candidacy and the role of the school board member; required training; New Jersey School Ethics Act requirements and disclosures; Election Law Enforcement Commission requirements; and, a sample nominating petition. It is strongly recommended that you contact the Middlesex County Clerk regarding the proper nominating petition to use.
Register To Vote: In order to vote in any election, you must be registered at least 21 days prior to the election in which you plan to vote. If you have never voted before, or if you have moved or changed your name since the last election, now is the time to register or re-register. Vote By Mail Ballot (Absentee Ballot):
Now there is no excuse not to vote. In New Jersey, any voter can vote
by mail in any election. You do not need a reason to vote by mail.
