On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, East Brunswick High School was recognized for its outstanding German Program. Esteemed guests from the Goethe Institut, Dr. Cordula Hunold, Ms. Lucy Patterson, and Mr. Alexander Bartholdt, Vice Consul for Culture and Science of the German Consulate General New York recognized the school as a PASCH School. The school was welcomed into the circle of PASCH Schools, an acronym for Schools: Partners of the Future, joining a select group of only fourteen schools in the United States that have earned this distinction.

Dr. Michael Vinella, the Principal of East Brunswick High School, and Dr. Silke Wehner-Franco, a German teacher, were honored with a plaque, a symbol of this great achievement.

The PASCH Initiative, with over 2,000 schools in 120 countries, strives to promote the development of German language programs worldwide. And now, East Brunswick High School stands as a shining example of this goal.

With this recognition comes a wealth of opportunities for students to partake in educational projects, and competitions, receive learning materials, and study advice, and become members of the PASCH Alumni Network.

German language teachers will have opportunities to attend regional and national training, receive internship opportunities, participate in projects, and join a vast network of educators who share their passion for German language and cultural exchange.
