Literacy Nights

Literacy Nights engage our Multilingual Learners and their families in hands-on English language activities. During Literacy Nights families get know the ESL teachers better, learn about the curriculum and new ways to engage their children in English language learning. Literacy Nights also build community. Parents get the opportunity to meet other Multilingual Learner families, get important information during the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) portion of the evening where they are encouraged share ideas and ask questions. Our culminating Literacy Night invites families to share a traditional dish for our annual potluck dinner. 

Each of our Literacy Nights are developed around language and content objectives, the NJ Student Learning Standards, activities that involve the whole family, and academic and social emotional outcomes.
