Hammarskjold Science
In upper elementary school, fifth graders engage in five units addressing physical, life and earth science standards. Each unit provides engaging hands-on experiences that develop content knowledge along with science process skills. The sixth graders engage in the study of the environment through a series of field studies in the fall semester and an intensive experience in environmental studies during an off-site field trip to an environmental education center in the spring. Additionally, sixth graders will study phenomena related to energy, weather and climate.
