Good Afternoon East Brunswick Community,
This is Dr. Evelyn Mamman, Superintendent of Schools.
Due to the forecasted snow, East Brunswick Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 26th. All after school and evening activities have been canceled.
Residents are kindly reminded to remain off all district properties until snow removal operations are fully complete. This ensures the safety of our community and allows our crews to clear the areas efficiently.
My meet and greet that was scheduled for Monday, January 26th at the High School has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 24th.
We are grateful to our dedicated staff for keeping our properties clear. We value your efforts and urge everyone to stay safe and warm. This will be a perfect day to get lost in the pages of a good book.

Dear East Brunswick School Community:
It is with deep sadness that I share the tragic news of the death of one of our students. This loss is heartbreaking, and our thoughts are first and foremost with the student’s family, loved ones, and all who are grieving. Moments like this are incredibly difficult for a school community. Our schools are places where students are known, supported, and cared for, and a loss of this nature is felt far beyond the classroom.
Our immediate priority is supporting our students and staff. Counseling and support services are available in our schools, and we are working closely with building leaders to ensure students have access to the care they need during this time. We also encourage families to speak with their children and reach out to their school if additional support would be helpful.
Out of respect for the family, and in accordance with privacy considerations, we will not be sharing additional details. We appreciate the community’s understanding and compassion as we navigate this loss together.
In times of grief, the strength of a community is shown through empathy, kindness, and care for one another. Thank you for holding our students, staff, and this family in your thoughts during this very difficult time.
Please visit our website (www.ebnet.org) for a list of resources with grief.
With sympathy,
Evelyn Mamman
Superintendent of Schools

Dear East Brunswick School District Community,
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Superintendent of Schools. I am deeply humbled and truly honored to step into this role. It is a privilege to join a district with such a rich tradition of excellence and a deep commitment to its students.
At its heart, education is about one thing: opportunity. Every policy we shape, every lesson taught, every choice we make as a district must be about creating opportunities for each and every one of our students - opportunities to achieve, to discover their passions, to grow into their fullest selves, and to embrace their futures with confidence. I come before you ready to listen, to learn, and to lead. As the late Nelson Mandela reminded us, “There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” That truth is the measure of our work. Our purpose, above all, is to ensure that our children are thriving - that we are taking care of them, investing in them, and preparing them well for the future.
East Brunswick School District has a proud legacy of excellence; excellence in academics, where intellectual curiosity and achievement are celebrated; excellence in the arts, where creativity and self-expression flourish; and excellence in athletics, where teamwork, perseverance, and spirit shine. These strengths are not separate; they are woven together, forming the very fabric of a district that knows how to nurture the whole child. We will honor this legacy while continuing to build upon it. As we look ahead, our work will be guided by focus, purpose, and fortitude. That means listening deeply, asking thoughtful questions, and paying close attention to the voices of our students, staff, and families. It also means committing ourselves to clear and shared goals:
- Fostering safe environments where every student feels seen, valued, and supported
- Ensuring academic growth through meaningful and rigorous learning
- Supporting our teachers, staff, and leaders so they are aligned, equipped, and empowered to do their best work
- Building systems that reflect the realities of our students’ lives and not just our aspirations
It is not going to be easy. We know there are challenges before us. But challenges do not define us, our response does. And I believe, deeply, that together we have the wisdom, the courage, and the collective will to meet those challenges head on. Our responsibility is clear, and our purpose is profound: to ensure that when others look at our schools, our community, and most importantly our students, they can say with pride and conviction, “This is what opportunity looks like.”
Thank you again for entrusting me with this responsibility. I look forward to our work ahead together, in service of our students, our schools, and our community.
With gratitude and enthusiasm,
Dr. Evelyn Mamman
Superintendent of Schools
