How many children are in 2C?
We have 20 stellar students in our class!

What is the daily homework routine like?
Each day during stack and pack, students will record their daily homework, reminders, and their behavior progress for the day. 2nd graders will be responsible for bringing home homework and returning it to school daily. Our homework schedule is routine. On Monday, our fundations homework will be sent home along with math and reading logs. Students are required to read for at least 20 minutes each evening and practice their math facts (any way you wish) for 10 minutes. There will also be a daily math homelink work page to help reinforce concepts taught in class.
If all homework is brought in for the week, students will collect 5 dollars in Chacko Cash. This year, the second grade team will begin a writing journal that allows students, teachers, and parents to reflect, respond, and collaborate on our learning...stay tuned for more details!

Can we bring a snack to class?
Yes. We will have a 5 minute healthy snack each day. Snacks MUST be peanut free. Please select "grab and go" options that aren't too messy or time consuming.

How are birthdays celebrated in 2C?
Happy Birthday to YOU! In honor of your birthday, you may donate a special book to our classroom library for all children to enjoy. Small, non food items such as pencils or stickers are also a great way to share the fun with others.

Who is Flat Stanley and why do second graders in Mrs. Chacko's class love him so much?
Have you heard all about Flat Stanley in 2C? He's famous at Warnsdorfer! Flat Stanley is the main character in the book series that bears his name. Th Each Friday, Flat Smiley will go home with the Star of the Week. Make sure to take lots of pictures and journal about your adventures. We will hear all about them when you return on Monday morning!
