HALLOWEEN TRUNK OR TREAT -
Important Message - We can't have a Trunk or Treat without Trunks! We need more Trunks! Please consider setting up a "Trunk" for the event. Trunk Registration deadline extended until Tuesday 10/15!
The Halloween Trunk or Treat will take place on Friday, October 18th (Raindate 10/25).
Join us for a fun evening of "Trunk-or Treating" followed by carnival style games, magic, face painting, cupcake decorating, and more!! You can bring your friends too! Admission wristbands cost $5 per child and can be purchased in advance.
WE NEED TRUNKS TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS! Be part of the fun! Please consider signing up to decorate your car and distribute candy to all of the trunk-or-treaters! Car registration is FREE and includes 2 admission wristbands when you arrive at the event! Cars must be pre-registered.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
Memorial PTA will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair from October 21st - October 25th. This is a fun opportunity for children to shop for their very own books during the school day. Parent/Teacher conferences will also be taking place that week. You will have the opportunity to come and shop as well! We need volunteers to help work at the book fair during the day and during evening conferences. Click on the link below to sign up as a book fair volunteer.
Our teachers are creating Wish Lists of books that they would like for their classrooms.. If you visit the book fair during parent teacher conferences, you can view the Wish Lists and purchase a book for your child's classroom. You can also purchase a Book Fair Gift certificate for your child’s teacher. Click here to download a Gift Certificate. Simply send in the gift certificate with your name, email address and payment in an envelope labeled “PTA-Book Fair Certificate” and we will pass on the gift certificate to your child’s teacher.
Scholastic has a digital payment option so you do not need to send cash to school with your child! Simply set up an EWallet account on our Book Fair Homepage and add funds to your child's account. You can set a spending limit for your child and any unused money will go back to your credit card. You will only be charged for the items that are purchased and will not be charged more than the spending limit that you set. KIDSTUFF/SAVAROUND COUPON BOOKS - ORDERS OVERDUE
KidStuff Coupon Book Orders were due last week!
These money-saving, family friendly coupon books cost $25 each which also includes a 12 month membership to the Kidstuff/Savaround App!
Memorial School will earn 50% profit on each book sold! The book that was sent home is a NOT SAMPLE BOOK TO KEEP. If you do not want to purchase the book, please remember to return it to school as soon as possible. Please leave your name label on the book that you return so that we can track the books. We will be charged for books that are not returned. (Please note that 5th grade students only received order forms and therefore do not need to return unwanted books. However, if 5th grade parents would like to order Kidstuff books, they can simply send the order form to school with payment and a book will be sent home with your child.
Online ordering is now closed! If you would like to purchase the book you have, please fill out the order form and return it to school with your payment (cash or checks made payable to Memorial School PTA)

5th GRADE COMMITTEE

CONFERENCE WEEK BAKE SALE TO SUPPORT THE 5th GRADE CLASS
Memorial PTA's 5th Grade Committee is hosting a Bake Sale during parent teacher conferences next week. All items $1. Please consider donating a baked good for the Bake Sale and remember to stop by the Bake sale to support the 5th Grade Class of 2020.

ROOM PARENTS -
VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLY - GUEST SPEAKER NEEDED
Veterans Day will be celebrated in school with an assembly on November 12th. If someone you know or someone in your family is a veteran, he/she will be invited to be a part of this special assembly (Save the Date!).
We are currently looking for a Guest Speaker for the assembly. If you are a veteran or know a veteran that is interested in giving a brief presentation to our K-5 students, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Did you know that we have a school store that's run by the PTA? The school store is open Thursdays during your child's lunch period. Prices range from $0.25 to $5.00 . If you send your child to school with some extra change, he/she can have a fun shopping experience! You'll also be supporting the PTA!
Be a School Store Vounteer-
We need some parent volunteers to help at our School Store. The School Store takes place from 11:00am - 1:15pm. Please only sign up for a slot if you are able to stay for the entire time period. Your responsibilities will be to help set up the items in the School Store, assist children with their purchases and clean up when lunches are over. Is your child celebrating a birthday soon? The school store has gift certificates that we can distribute to your child's class. This is a great substitution for traditional goody bags.
