How do you know? -What would you do if you were in the same situation as the character? Why?-Have you ever felt the way the character is feeling? Explain.-How would the story change if it was told from another character's point of view?
-How would the story change if it took place somewhere else?
-What is the moral of the story? How do you know?
-Summarize the story.
-If your child finishes the book, ask your child if s/he would have ended the book differently or what s/he would include in the sequel.
-Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
-What is the problem in the story? How does the character solve (or try to solve) the problem?
-Who is the protagonist/ antagonist? What problem did s/he cause?
-What are some vocabulary words you've learned that you didn't know before?
-What skill(s) are you working on with Miss Bates?
- What is one of your reading goals? What are you doing to accomplish it?
