Welcome Letter
Back to School!
Welcome to Señora Spinelli's Spanish Class!
Introduction Welcome back to school!! I hope you all have enjoyed the summer and are ready for a new, and fantastic journey this year. We are going to have a great experience learning new ways to apply Spanish into everyday life. I love Spanish and my hope is for you to love it too! I encourage you to come to class with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a sense of humor!
I teach 98% in Spanish. Students are immersed in the language where their speaking, listening, and comprehension skills are nurtured. English translation has proven to be a barrier because the brain is then asked to decode in two languages rather than one. I believe using “real world situations” in a comfortable environment where my students do not have to be afraid of making mistakes. I use a very dramatic approach with extensive manipulatives, materials, and puppets. I sing, dance, and role-play scenarios to help my students learn to communicate in Spanish while having fun.
Class Expectations
- Be respectful.
Always speak and behave respectfully. Participate properly by raising your hand before speaking, and listen carefully when others are speaking.
- Be ready to learn.
Come to class on time with all necessary supplies and completed assignments. Be sure to follow directions the first time they are given. TEACHER, NOT THE BELL, dismisses class!
- Be Safe

Be assertive! Ask questions to increase your understanding and be prepared to answer questions. Seek assistance when you need it, and
