    Course Guide

The main purpose of the high school program is to fully prepare all students to be successful beyond their high school experience. The testament and proof of this mission can be witnessed by the fact that 92% of the graduates from the Class of 2022 are attending higher educational institutions. Other graduates have moved forward into an array of rewarding careers. Many of those who opt initially not to pursue higher education directly out of high school make the choice to continue to further their education within three years. Therefore, the program of studies is designed to prepare all students to maximize their options.

Students will be furnished with the opportunity to enroll in courses at East Brunswick High School where they can earn up to 40 college credits through The College Pathways Program. For those students who have specific careers in mind, the program of studies offers introductory options, Work Study Programs and Career Internship opportunities.

    Process for Course Selection

The process for course selection will start with the EBHS school counselors visiting Churchill Junior High School to conduct pre-scheduling presentations for the rising 10th grade class. The counselors will provide students with a presentation highlighting the course selection process, required courses, the elective program as well as additional pertinent information to assist students in a smooth and successful transition into East Brunswick High School. Additionally, School Counselors will meet individually with each student in grades 10-12 to discuss course requests. A printed copy of all selected courses is provided to the student to be signed by parent/guardian and to be returned back to the School Counseling department by April 21, 2023. Please review the Important Dates section of this page for more information.

Please keep in mind, course requests do not guarantee placement in a particular course, though every effort will be made to accommodate scheduling requests.

The Course Sequences guide and Course Placement Criteria are additional resources that may assist your course selection and planning.
