New Jersey State Seal of Biliteracy
The NJ Seal of Biliteracy certifies that each student is biliterate in English and a second language. Students who are proficient in English and meet the Intermediate-Mid proficiency in a world language will receive the NJ State Seal of Biliteracy certificate and will have this notated on the East Brunswick High School transcript.
Bilingual means that a person can speak and understand two languages. Biliterate means that a student can read, write, speak and understand two languages. Students who earn this recognition are biliterate.
This distinction is viewed as an asset when applying for college admission and/or a job. This brochure will provide more information:
Students who will be seniors in 2021-2022 will register for a language proficiency assessment.
