Ms. Jennifer Cunningham

She earned her BA in Mathematics and Psychology and her MA in School Counseling from Seton Hall University.  Ms. Cunningham provides individual and group counseling and serves as a liaison between students, parents, teachers, administrators, and members of the East Brunswick community in order to best support the academic, social, and emotional needs of her students.  Additionally, Ms. Cunningham is a co-facilitator and advisor for Sources of Strength; she strives to promote and expand the Sources of Strength program. Ms. Cunningham is proud to follow in her father’s footsteps as an EBPS School Counselor and she continually expands her counseling knowledge through professional development.  When she’s not at HMS, Ms. Cunningham enjoys spending time with her children and pets, playing tennis, skiing, reading, and playing video games.

Ms. Taylor Siegel

Ms. Siegel earned a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Rowan University and a Masters of Arts in Counseling from New Jersey City University. Ms. Siegel strives to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure students at HMS receive the necessary tools to be successful members of society. As a counselor, she promotes social and emotional learning while providing positive support through individual and group sessions. Ms. Siegel has established a safe, welcoming and encouraging setting for students to experience academic or personal counseling to cultivate self-esteem. She enjoys going to the beach, listening to country music and attending NY Jets football games.

Mr. Bruce Singer

Mr. Singer has worked as a School Counselor within the East Brunswick school district since September of 2001 and been a part of the Student Services team at HMS since 2013.  Mr. Singer has over 24 years experience working in education that includes working with students from grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. He earned both his BA in Psychology and MA in School Counseling from Montclair State University.  Mr. Singer’s philosophy while working with students includes building relationships with students of all backgrounds, having enthusiasm to helps students, advocating for student success, and collaborating with parents and other school professionals.  Upon entering Mr. Singer’s office, one will easily see that his interests include anything sports or superheros related!

Mrs. Melissa Violett

Mrs. Violett joined the HMS Counseling Department in January of 2018. Before joining the team in student services, she previously taught 7th grade social studies in House 12.  Mrs. Violett earned her BA in History from The College New Jersey and her MA in School Counseling from Montclair State University. Mrs. Violett works diligently to help create a positive school climate at HMS through work with her students in both individual and group counseling sessions. She believes it is important to help students discover their individual strengths. Mrs. Violett is an avid Yankees fan and loves all things Harry Potter.
