Dear Elementary School Students and Parents:

The summer is a great time to relax and enjoy reading informative, entertaining and interesting books. This year the East Brunswick Public Library and the schools in East Brunswick have joined together to provide an exciting summer reading incentive program for students entering grades K-5. By registering and reading through the Get A Clue Summer Reading program, students will have an opportunity to participate all summer in a variety of exciting events. Then in  September when school begins, they will be invited to a Get the Scoop on Reading ice cream party. Imagine, every time you read a book, not only will you come closer to earning prizes at the library, but your teachers will know that you enjoyed reading over the summer too.

To take part in this new and exciting program, students need to visit the East Brunswick Public Library and register for the Get A Clue Summer Reading program. Every student who reads a minimum of  600 minutes over the summer (fifteen minutes a day) will be recognized at his/her individual school in September with an invitation to the Get the Scoop on Reading  ice cream party.

Follow the links above to view a copy of the reading list for the appropriate grade level.  This list is to help you and your child select appropriate books that he/she will enjoy. These books are part of the  East Brunswick Public Librarys collection and are readily available for borrowing. However, any book that is borrowed and read will count towards the summer reading program.

Visit the East Brunswick Public Library web site at http://www.ebpl.org/kids/Summer_Reading.cfm for access to grade level lists. Thank you in advance for your participation in this extremely worthwhile program. I hope to see you and your children at the East Brunswick Public Library this summer.

Sincerely,

Beth Warren
