Plot: The only survivor of a mass suicide took over an airplane. He is now telling his life story in the black box.

Why read? It is very interesting digging into the mind of the main character. One finds out why he is so messed up.

Plot: The main character of the book tell his life story and how it led into the flight recorder of Flight 2039. The plane is about to crash and he will be the only survivor.

Why read? I really liked the beginning of the book. It is catchy and the plot moves backwards. While I am reading this book I am always curious what is going to happen next.

Plot: The book starts out with the end of the story. Most of the book is the flashback that leads up to the end of the man's death in a plane.

Why read? The man's life experiences are very interesting and entertaining. If you want a description of a bizarre lifestyle I recommend this novel. Chuck Palahniuk is also the author of Fight Club.

Plot: A member of a cult narrates his life story on a plane recorder as he is about to commit suicide. He recalls the strict life forced upon cult members and intertwines that with the suicide mission that has overcome his cult. As the last member of his cult, he becomes famous and his life is transformed.

Why read? The novel creates an interesting and unusual cult that foils modern day society. The culture differences between these two settings make for an original book and a thrilling ride for the main character.

Plot: Tender Branson is the last survivor from a Death Cult and is on an airplane all alone. He is giving his entire life story before his plane crashes down into the Pacific Ocean.

Why read? The book starts off slowly but moves into the little details of Tender Branson’s life. He reveals the dark and sometimes sadistic view he has on life and other people. It is an interesting view on the society of today through one man’s final words on Earth.

Plot: As the last survivor of the Creedish Death Cult, Tender Branson records his memoirs into the recorder of a crashing plane. Having left his family and community at the age of 17, he recalls his years of hard work as a house servant, as well as his unique life experiences as a result of his involvement in the cult.
Why read? Survivor, written by the author of Fight Club, is an interesting view of a fictionalized cult based on some modicum of truth, albeit somewhat exaggerated. It offers perspective into a world very different from our own and satirizes modern culture.
