Plot: A troubled teenage boy attempting to get through high school while dealing with the mysterious death of his father, avoiding daily beatings, dealing with his crappy rock band, and attempts at getting girls.

Why read? For those who enjoyed the Catcher in the Rye King Dork will be an enjoyable book for you. Throughout the story the same train of thought type writing was used, just like in the Catcher in the Rye. This story also focuses on a troubled teenager who is having problems just dealing with daily life. King Dork even mentions the Catcher in the Rye frequently throughout the story, commenting on aspects of the book that he disagreed with. What I also enjoyed about this book is that there are a lot of clever twists throughout the book that you would never have seen coming. Lastly the book contains a lot of clever humor and situations that the average teenager is able to relate to.

Reviewer’s note: If you enjoy a comical, clever book about the teenage way of life then you would probably want to get King Dork.
