Who’s Who in History?
During this school year you will be encountering many individuals and their
contributions to the historical time period that we are studying. This
assignment will give you the opportunity to investigate one of the individuals
at length. Please follow directions carefully for each of the sections below.
You will have two class periods in the media center, please use them wisely. All
phases of this assignment will be graded.
- Resume Writing.
One section of this assignment is to discover the
use and purpose of resumes. Use part of this media center period to locate
on-line samples of resumes. You will create a resume for your assigned
individual. I will discuss the objective with you individually. After you have
reviewed a few (at least three) samples of resumes you will proceed to the
next section.
- Historical Figure.
You will be assigned one individual that we
will study during this historical time period. Using your investigative
powers, you are to delve into this person’s past and create a resume for them.
The resume should focus on the individual’s contributions during the late
1800s and 1900s. This is to be typed and one side of a page only. On the back
of this resume you are to provide a works consulted regarding the sources that
you have used. I will explain this in class. Please use at least one
technology source and one book. There should be a minimum of two sources.
- Power Point.
After completing your investigation, you will create
a power point of your individual. You should have a minimum of three slides.
One of the slides is to be a picture of your individual. Please focus on the
contributions regarding the other two slides. These slides are pictures
only-no notes. Please save to the "Shared Drive" in the folder assigned to
your class.
- Presentation.
Your presentations will take place at various times
through out the year. I will review in class the requirements of your
presentation.
