District Comprehensive Equity Plan

East Brunswick Public School's Affirmative Action Team (AAT) prepared the Comprehensive Equity Plan (CEP), over the course of the 2015-16 school year, and submitted to the State Department of Education in March 2016.  The plan, which is linked below, was approved by the NJDOE in April 2016. This plan replaced the former "Multi-year Equity Plan" required by the State Department.   According to the State Department, "The responsibility of each board of education of every public school district and charter school in New Jersey is to identify and correct all discriminatory and inequitable policies, programs, practices and conditions within or affecting their schools."

For the 2016-17 school year, East Brunswick's district Affirmative Officers are:
Danielle Ruggiero, Director of Human Resources
Louis Figueroa, Assistant Superintendent

Assisting in our CEP implementation:
Christopher Yannazzo, Supervisor of Physical Education/Athletics (Title IX Coordinator)
Debra Gulick, Director of Curriculum and Instruction (Classroom practices)

The Comprehensive Equity Plan enables school districts, charter schools and renaissance school projects to demonstrate compliance with all applicable laws, codes, and regulations, including, but not limited to, the following:

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
