Who is eligible to take the GED tests? You may take the GED Tests if:

  • You are not enrolled in high school, and

  • You have not graduated from high school, and

  • You are at least age 16, and

  • You meet state requirements regarding age, residency and the length of time since leaving school


You Must Pre-Register by Mail All registrations accepted on a first-come, first served basis

Complete a student record card and send it to East Brunswick Public Schools, Adult & Community Education - GED Test Center, 380 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ 08816-3095 with a $50.00 money order made payable to EBPS-GED Test Center. Be sure to indicate the testing dates you are requesting.

After we receive your record card and payment, we will send you a postcard/admission ticket. Your dates are not confirmed until you receive your postcard/admission ticket.

If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or court appointed guardian must complete and sign a Consent to Participate form prior to your test sessions.

No testing will take place without an appointment and appropriate identification. No one will be admitted after the scheduled test time. If the test session you selected is filled, you will automatically be scheduled for the next available session.

Summer 2008 Testing Schedule: Each full tester must register for one group of dates. During Session 1 you will complete the test forms and participate in a video/hands-on demonstration of the Casio fx-260 calculator which has been approved for Part 1 of the math test. You will take the Tests of General Educational Development (GED) in the following sequence: Session 2: Writing/Essay, Science. Session 3: Mathematics, Reading, Social Studies, (For retesting select Session 2 for Writing/Essay or Science. Select Session 3 for mathematics, Reading or Social Studies.)

Session 2:  Wednesday, September 10, 2008 - 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm (Writing/Essay, Science)

Session 3:  Monday, September 15, 2008  - 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm (Math, Reading, & Social Studies)

Session 1:  Monday, October 13, 2008 - 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm (Orientation)

Session 2:  Wednesday, October 15, 2008 - 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm (Writing/Essay, Science)

Session 3:  Monday, October 20, 2008  - 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm (Math, Reading, & Social Studies)

 
Group L

Session 1:  Wednesday, November 12, 2008 - 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm (Orientation)

Session 2:  Monday, November 17, 2008 - 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm (Writing/Essay, Science)

Session 3:  Wednesday, November 19, 2008  - 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm (Math, Reading, & Social Studies)

 
For Retesting - Choose retest dates from any group listed above:
Session 2: for Writing/Essay or Science
Session 3: for Mathematics, Reading, or Social Studies

What to bring? The following are required at all sessions: your postcard/admission ticket, two forms of identification, one must have a picture. See a list of acceptable identification. several #2 pencils, two blue or black ballpoint pens and your social security number.
