DATE: Feb. 20, 2008 -FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- HAMMARSKJOLD STUDENTS TO HOLD POETRY, ART PRESENTATION At 7 p.m. on the nights of March 12 and 13 Hammarskjold students will be featured at a Poetry, Art and Music Presentation at Barnes and Noble of East Brunswick, located at the Brunswick Square Mall. The students are currently working hard on their poetry anthologies including various types and kinds of poems which they have been studying. Students will select one poem each to share during the presentations. The students are also creating a visual artistic representation of their chosen poetic work to be unveiled on those nights. In preparation for their debut, retired Hammarskjold art teacher, Carole Grand visited Hammarskjold on Feb. 25 to speak to the students about creating their artistic representations. At Barnes and Noble on both March 12 and 13, there will be seven stations conducted simultaneously with each student making their poetry recital debut and unveiling their artistic work. There will also be a talent station at which students will either be playing instruments or singing and providing musical accompaniment. Hammarskjold students cordially invite the entire community to come out and hear their poems and see their artwork during these two very special evenings also featuring accompanying musical selections. In conjunction with this event, Barnes and Noble is offering store patrons the opportunity to support more programs like this. By downloading a voucher at www.ebnet.org and presenting it to a Barnes and Noble cashier a percentage of the sale will be donated back to the program. |
