Bowne-Munro is an extraordinary school with a long-standing tradition of excellence. Our goal at Bowne-Munro Elementary School is to promote a system built on successful cooperation among family, school and community, while working to prepare students to reach their highest potential, and to become productive, ethical, and responsible citizens.

Truly a community of learners, we are committed to providing each student in grades K-5 with a challenging and nurturing educational experience. The focus of all we do is on the student as a learner. Our dedication to continuous improvement is demonstrated through advanced instructional strategies, techniques and materials; a skilled and energetic staff; a clean and safe facility; and an involved, supportive community, with a positive attitude toward learning and life.

Students flourish in a motivating academic environment which emphasizes literature based language strategies, process writing, problem solving, critical thinking, manipulative math experiences and hands-on science and computer instruction. Students at Bowne-Munro Elementary School thrive in a child-oriented atmosphere which presents academic, as well as, creative challenges. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate to insure success for every child. Our diverse population provides us with wonderful opportunities to learn about many different cultures and traditions, while our annual school-wide theme gives us a chance to work together with a common focus.

The staff at Bowne-Munro Elementary School is committed to providing a world-class education for every child. At Bowne-Munro we believe parents are vital to our school's success as they participate as partners in the teaching/learning process and as eager supporters of the Parent Teacher Association. Parents and the professional staff work together to ensure that our children develop the motivation, independence, skills, and strategies to be life-long learners. Parents and teachers, working together, provide a nurturing environment that facilitates the social, emotional, physical and academic growth of each youngster. The combination of students who work hard, teachers who care, and parents who support education truly provides a powerful blend of structure, programming, resources, and commitment so that every student can be successful in his or her own individual way.
